Intensives:

A Deep Dive Into the Physiology of Pain & Cannabis ~ Tammi Sweet ~ Sunday, 12-3pm
Chronic pain affects 80 million people annually. Understanding the pain pathway allows us to intervene at multiple levels with a myriad of interventions. Opiate overuse stems from people not understanding other positions for pain relief. Cannabis has been used successfully to treat chronic pain, especially neuropathic pain.
We will explore the pain pathway from the origin at the source, all the way up to recognition in the brain. From here we will discuss the latest findings in pain research, the methods to interrupt the pain pathway (including cannabis, lifestyle and other herbs!), how these methods work, and finally their indications and contraindications for use.
-
Deep Imbalances ~ Bevin Clare ~ Friday, 2:30-5:30pm

Virology for Herbalists ~ Dr. Jody E. Noé ~ Saturday, 1-4pm MS, ND

First we will overview of the life cycles of different types of viruses by replication type: including DNA single strand and double stranded as well as RNA single, double, messengerRNA and retroviruses. With each of the different replication types I will list the common types of viruses they encompass. …ie. mRNA retrovirus is HIV, etc.
We will also look at viruses by families, and what those disease processes are with each of the viral infections. We will look at natural protocols for each of these families as not only treatment as well as including prevention.
It will be a packed intensive on viruses, but it will also be informative and fun!
